Ethics in Business Awards Winners

“Of all the one hundred and one ways in which people can make themselves useful to society, undoubtedly the most available and often the most effective are within the spheres of their own occupations.”
               -Paul Harris
The Gresham Rotary presented the Ethics in Business Awards at the Gresham Area Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards Banquet. The winners of the awards are:
The Non-Profit recipient is Birch Community Services.
Started 25 years ago with a donation of bags of bread from Union Gospel Mission…. A loaves and fishes story has evolved into a mission that states, “ The mission of BCS is to provide a community where people can be responsible and accountable for meeting their basic needs, and to equip them with tools to overcome financial difficulty….in short a hand up rather than a hand out. BCS is not a food bank….the food is a means to help families become financially sustainable.
The Small Business recipient is Dogwood Pet Hospital:
Dogwood Pet Hospital offers traditional veterinary services to cats and dogs but also offers unique services such as homeopathic treatment, acupuncture and laser treatment. The focus is on improving the quality of life for your pet without stressing the animal more than necessary or one’s wallet, for that matter. Dogwood offers compassionate care with sensitivity to the emotional relationship between pet and owner.
The Large Business recipient is Gresham Ford:
Gresham Ford not only makes customer service a priority but also giving back to their community. Gresham Ford is truly a catalyst for giving. Employees have the opportunity to designate $1-$5 from each payroll check to local causes they are passionate about. They extend the opportunity to their customers as well to donate a portion of their service charges or up to $100 of the purchase price of their vehicle to the charity of their choice.
Congratulations to all of the Ethics in Business Honorees.
